There have been a number of problems or road safety concerns identified. A formal and holistic approach has emerged in establishing an Action Plan containing all issues, timing and priorities for interventions, funding opportunities and a “who does what when” list. The Action Plan is a powerful tool in addressing all the issues. Once the draft action plan is completed, the issues can be discussed in the next SafeST committee (with the assistance of TMR road safety staff). The actions and requests to the authorities are assessed by the committee to ensure they are realistic and favoured by the majority of the school community.
